It works really well.
Sadly on my Undead army my peasants aren't reproducting as well as I like, and I have to go steal some from the game.
Slow as a Chersus up a Hill seems to be the one that Brotherhood people use.
It's pretty lame as slow, but if you are looking for more workers, they do live here.

brotherhood can follow the beast quest chain as well, on my nations i always run kill the beast too, "an expert" used to be good cause it gave a lot of resources too but they nerfed the quest and slowed it down a lot with slightly different event cues.
